What's New for the 2023 Ford Explorer?
As a new generation of the Ford Explorer comes in with the 2023 model year, there are significant improvements from bumper to bumper. For starters, the Explorer has a wider grille with new chrome accents, redesigned adaptive headlamps, and a new bumper with stylish edges. The rear taillights are also wider. Now available in eight trim levels, you will notice that the Explorer lettering is significantly wider than last year's model. The 7-passenger SUV is enhanced to include a wide range of new technological advancements in the auto industry.
How Much Horsepower Does the 2023 Explorer Have?
With three available engine options, the 2023 Explorer comes standard with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost I-4 engine with auto start-stop technology, which gives you 300 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. Level up to the 3.0-liter EcoBoost V-6 engine for 400 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. Choose the Hybrid for a 3.3-liter engine, and you get 318 horsepower and 322 pound-feet of torque. Ford has opted to continue to match either engine with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
