2021 Ford Escape

What's New For the 2021 Ford Escape?

Ford has decided to provide its hybrid powertrain to the SE and SEL trim levels for the Ford Escape as part of the 2021 model year. Right now, it's only a standard feature for the Titanium trim level. Adaptive cruise control and traffic sign recognition technology have been added to the Co-Pilot 360 package. You can also find some other features sprinkled into the different trim levels. This includes a hands-free liftgate, memory settings for seats and mirrors, a 10-way power driver's seat, LED headlights, and optional 19-inch wheels.

2021 Escape Trim Levels & Countless Features

Ford has included five main trims with a total of eight variants in the Escape lineup. The Escape S trim includes a Wi-Fi hotspot and the Ford Sync 3 infotainment system. Two USB charging ports come standard, and a six-speaker audio system. You get 17-inch alloy wheels on the SE trim and an eight-inch display infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration. This trim also includes a convenient power-adjustable driver's seat, heated front seats, and single-zone climate control.

The SE Sport gets a hybrid powertrain, digital gauge cluster display, and a  leather-wrapped steering wheel. The SEL trim features 18-inch wheels, adds a convenient remote start and parking sensors. A heated steering wheel is standard, and a hands-free liftgate comes with the SEL. The top-line Titanium trim offers more features such as dual-zone climate control, a premium sound system, LED headlights, and leather seats.

What's Under the Hood of the Ford Escape?

Several engine options are available across the eight different trim levels for the Escape. The base-level engine is a 181-horsepower, turbocharged 1.5-liter engine with three cylinders. You can choose from front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. You can upgrade to the 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that provides 250 horsepower if you're looking for more power and performance. Both of these engines have an eight-speed automatic transmission. There are two hybrid versions of a 2.5-liter four-cylinder.

Technologies to Keep You Safe

The Ford Escape has been receiving safety awards for many years now. The 2021 version of the Escape has warranted a safety rating of five stars from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. It has also received a Top Safety Pick award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. This is largely thanks to features like forward collision warning technology, automated emergency braking, lane departure warnings, lane-keep assist technology, and blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alerts.
