Ford previewed their new redesign for their popular 2022 Ford Transit Connect with the reveal of their latest concept vehicle last June. Eye-catching and sleek, the Transit Connect concept is a futuristic MPV that turns heads. The new 2022 Ford Transit Connect is loosely based on its predecessors but almost entirely redesigned from the ground up.
What's New for The 2022 Ford Transit Connect?
The new Transit Connect has a complete redesign inside and out, making it look like a shrunken version of the much larger Ford Transit van that made its debut in 2014. The entire dashboard has been redesigned to include more technology, comfort, and storage for stowing small items to make life easier for delivery drivers and other commercial users of the Transit Connect.
Trims & Features
The Transit Connect Wagon is available in five models: XL, XLT, Titanium, Passenger Wagon XL, and Passenger Wagon XLT. Each trim offers something a little different to meet different needs and budgets. The 2022 Ford Transit Connect is a van that has been in the market for over a decade. Built to offer efficient service and make deliveries and trips more manageable, the Transit Connect is available in two body styles, a passenger wagon, and a cargo van. The passenger wagon can seat up to seven people, while the cargo van features sliding doors on both sides of the vehicle for easy access. Both versions also offer available all-wheel drive. The Titanium trim adds 18-inch wheels, leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, and an 8-inch touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration.

Horsepower
The Ford Transit Connect is all-new for 2022. It's smaller, lighter, and more agile than the regular full-size Transit. The regular Transit will be replaced soon, too. The 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder is a first for the U.S.-market Transit Connect and an improvement over the previous 2.0-liter inline-4 (the best-selling engine option). The new engine is good for 181 horsepower and 190 pound-feet of torque, up from 162 hp and 144 lb.-ft. of torque in the outgoing model. The 1.5T pairs to an 8-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the front wheels or optionally to all four corners with a 4WD system.
Safety
With a broad list of standard safety features, the 2022 Ford Transit Connect is one of America's safest cars for sale. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave it an overall five-star rating, and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has named it a Top Safety Pick+. The Transit Connect's list of standard safety gear includes automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, and rain-sensing windshield wipers.
