To give you even more confidence when you buy a new vehicle, Ford equips its new cars with various warranties. These warranties are standard factory warranties, which means they apply to a broad range of vehicles. While Ford's factory warranties are standard across the board, some vehicles have additional warranties as well, including hybrid and electric cars. Ford's new diesel-powered vehicles also have warranties specific to their diesel powertrain. Ford also has extra supplemental warranties for additional coverage beyond its factory standard warranties.

New Vehicle Limited Warranty

The New Vehicle Limited Warranty includes Bumper-to-Bumper protection that covers components in your Ford for up to three years or 36,000 miles, whichever is first. The warranty covers the costs associated with problems that arise from factory workmanship issues, manufacturing defects, and problems with factory-supplied materials during normal use. The warranty will cover all components in your Ford that need replacement, repairs, or adjustment at no charge.

Diesel Engine Warranty

If you drive a Ford with a diesel engine, it will have an additional warranty to cover parts in the diesel mechanical system. The Diesel Engine factory warranty is valid for up to 100,000 miles or a total of five years. Many parts are covered under warranty, including the turbocharger actuator, engine, head gaskets, timing gear, water pump, and valve covers.

Powertrain Warranty

The Powertrain Warranty for new cars applies to front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive, all-wheel drive, or four-wheel drive vehicles and covers 5 years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. The parts covered may vary depending on the powertrain, except for all-wheel drive and four-wheel drive models, which share the same components.

Corrosion Warranty

Ford's Corrosion Warranty plan covers the cost of replacements and repairs necessary due to the corrosion of factory-installed body panels. The Corrosion Warranty is an extended Corrosion Coverage plan that will replace damaged aluminum or sheet metal panels that develop corrosion from normal use during the first 5 years, regardless of miles driven. Environmental fallout that causes paint damage is also covered for one year or 12,000 miles.

Emissions Defect Warranty

Ford's Emissions Defect Warranty covers replacements for components that break in the emissions system. The warranty applies to regular and hybrid passenger vehicles, along with regular Ford commercial trucks.

Safety Restraint Warranty

The Safety Restraint Warranty will cover components in the Supplemental Restraint System and the seat belts for up to 60,000 miles or 5 years, whichever comes first.

Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Component Coverage

This warranty covers repair and replacement costs for hybrid and electric vehicle components. The scope of the warranty differs for hybrid and electric vehicles.
