What's New For The 2019 Ford Ranger?

The Ford Ranger is back, after a hiatus for several years. There are a lot of new features, including the exterior, the interior, and the engine itself. The headlights and the trapezoid-shaped grille are some of the most notable exterior changes. It's a reskinned version of the T6 Ranger, which is found internationally. The interior has an infotainment center screen, cruise control, and even a Wi-Fi hotspot. Under the hood, you will experience an EcoBoost turbocharged engine to deliver plenty of performance in the compact pickup truck.

Three Trims with Exceptional Interior Features

The Ford Ranger is available in two configurations: A SuperCab with a 6' box or a SuperCrew with a 5' box. From there, you have three trim levels: XL, XLT, and Lariat. The XL is packed with standard features, including daytime halogen running lamps, a rearview camera, Applink, and six audio speakers. The XLT includes even more, such as a power-locking tailgate. The Lariat continues with upgraded features, such as leather-trimmed seats, fading interior lights, and a dual-zone electronic automatic temperature control. Convenience features include a locking glove box, a smart-charging USB port, remote keyless entry, cruise control, and an engine block heater. You can also opt for a Smart Trailer Tow Connector, making it easy to tow up to 7500 pounds with your truck.

Strong Powertrain Options for Towing

2019 Ford Ranger Exterior FrontThe 2019 Ranger has an EcoBoost 2.3-liter engine with 270 horsepower. For the transmission, it is a 10-speed automatic. You can look forward to a standard rear-wheel drive or opt for the four-wheel drive as an add-on. You can enjoy rugged driving conditions with the rear leaf springs. If you drive off-road a lot, there is an FX4 off-road package that delivers a Terran Management System (similar to the Raptor) as well as all-terrain tires, skid plates, and shocks that are tuned to off-road performance. You can set the drive mode for the kind of terrain you drive in to improve your driving capability.

2019 Ford Ranger Safety Innovations

2019 Ford Ranger Exterior RearYou will notice that the Ford Ranger has a lot of safety features, which is why Ford continues to impress. You will have lane-keeping technology, pre-collision assist, blind spot monitoring, and reverse sensors. There will also be an SOS post-crash alert system, a tire pressure monitoring system, and roll stability control. Airbags provide protection if you're in an accident. Child-safety locks and a child seat tether/anchor system are in place, too. Additional safety features are included in the Lariat trim level, such as adding pedestrian detection to the forward collision avoidance system and adaptive cruise control.
