Joe Myers Ford's 2016 Fusion Review and Research

The aggressively styled Ford Fusion returns to the North American automotive market for 2016 with a redesigned center stack and two new package options: an S Appearance Package and SE Cold Weather Package. Each one caters to the needs of different drivers and comes with first-class features unavailable as standard equipment. Aside from these new additions, the 2016 Ford Fusion continues to come equipped with every amenity offered on last year's models, as well as three different engine options. For a full rundown of each one and the Fusion's fresh components, look over our 2016 Ford Fusion review.

Both S and SE Fusion models are outfitted with a standard 2.5L four-cylinder engine. The displacement generates 175 horsepower and 175 lb.-ft. of torque, while working in sync with a six-speed automatic transmission. For those looking for a little extra power, the SE model can also be equipped with a turbocharged 1.5L four-cylinder, generating 181 horsepower and 185 lb.-ft. of torque. A turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder bumps the horsepower up to 240 on the SE and is also featured as the standard displacement on the Titanium model of the 2016 Ford Fusion in Houston.

New to the Ford Fusion this year is the S Appearance Package and SE Cold Weather Package. The former comes armed with a rear spoiler, 18-inch alloy Ebony black wheels and fog lamps, which enhance the Fusion's exterior appearance. The latter gets the Fusion prepared for winter by outfitting it with all-weather floor mats, heated seating and Power Code Remote Start System, so drivers can start their car from the comfort of their home on cold days. Additionally, the brand-new 2016 Ford Fusion in Houston sports a redesigned center stack that improves usability. With the new arrangement, drivers can more easily utilize Ford's SYNC infotainment system.
