Houston Ford Dealer Reviews the 2015 Escape

There are not many true standouts among compact crossovers. Most of the other guys seem to copy each other. They offer the same bland styling, meager features and tepid performance. But Ford has a reputation for breaking away from the pack, and it has done so once again with its new Escape. In its 2015 Ford Escape review, Edmunds.com said the Escape manages to distinguish itself with its chiseled good looks, sharp handling, comfortable seating and high-end interior touches.

Test-drive the 2015 Ford Escape in Houston and you'll see what we mean. Inside, you will find the distinctively modern cabin is well-appointed and roomy. The comfortable seats and refined suspension give a ride both quiet and smooth. Cargo space behind the rear seats squares up to 34.3 cubic feet, or fold down the seats to get 67.8 cubic feet.

The six-speed automatic is standard across the line, but a variety of engines is available. Choose from the basic 2.5-liter four, the 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, or the 240-hp, 2.0-liter EcoBoost, which can scoot from zero to 60 in under eight seconds and has the kind of punch to really make the most of the Escape's handling.

Standard safety equipment includes dual front, side, and curtain airbags; anti-lock brakes, traction and stability control. Ford's MyKey system allows owners to define limits on such things as vehicle speed and audio system volume. Standard curve control helps the Escape stay on a safe path should the driver approach a corner too quickly.

The entry-level Escape S is nicely provisioned with features, but moving up to SE or Titanium packages opens up a bounty of options, including leather seats , heated front seats, ambient lighting, a power converter, a media hub with two USB ports, RCA jacks, and an SD slot, heated mirrors, pushbutton start, and fog lamps. A hands-free tailgate is also available.

The Escape has it all and brings it together at a great price. Continue reading our 2015 Ford Escape review below, or go see the 2015 Ford Escape in Houston at Joe Myers Ford.
