Specs at a Glance
The 2025 Ford Escape is a standout in the small crossover segment. Its stylish design, impressive comfort, and advanced technology appeal to many drivers. When choosing an Escape, many consider the differences between the Escape Active and the Escape Platinum. Here's how they compare.
Performance
The Escape Active is equipped with a 1.5-liter EcoBoost three-cylinder engine, offering 180 horsepower. An auto stop-start feature helps conserve fuel, while the eight-speed automatic transmission ensures smooth performance. Front-wheel drive is standard, though all-wheel drive is available.
For more power, the Escape Platinum is the better choice. It's powered by a 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine, producing 250 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. This results in quicker acceleration and a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 pounds.
Appearance
The Escape Active has a sleek, modern profile. LED headlights and 17-inch alloy wheels are standard, and chrome exhaust tips enhance its sporty appeal. Six exterior colors are available, including Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat and Carbonized Gray Metallic.
The Escape Platinum has 19-inch machine-face wheels and distinctive LED fog lights. Unique headlights further distinguish this trim level.
Features
The Escape Active offers excellent features, including the SYNC 4 infotainment system with an 8.0-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration, and Ford Co-Pilot360. Dual-zone automatic climate control, Intelligent Access with Push-Button Start, and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot are also standard.
The Escape Platinum brings more luxury with a 13.2-inch touchscreen featuring Connected Navigation and a 360-degree camera. You'll find ActiveX upholstery, heated front sport seats, a digital gauge cluster, wireless charging, and adaptive cruise control inside.
