Ford Will Launch New Battery Energy Storage Business  
 

Lisa Drake has been tapped by Ford Motor Company to serve as President of Ford Energy, reporting to Vice Chair John Lawler. Almost immediately, Drake announced her strategy to launch Ford's battery energy storage systems (BESS) business.

Lisa Drake's responsibilities as President of Ford Energy will be vast, covering manufacturing through to retail sales. John Lawler, the Vice Chair of Ford Energy, emphasized the necessity of her role: "Lisa has a deep expertise in scaling complex industrial systems and securing critical supply chains. Her leadership is essential as we stand up Ford Energy to capture the growing demand for reliable battery energy storage that supports grid stability and resilience for utilities and large energy users."

Having previously held the position of Vice President of Technology Platform Programs and EV Systems, Drake brings a wealth of knowledge in industrialization. She is ready to position Ford Energy as a major market participant. She stated, "We're building a business focused first on utility-scale battery energy storage systems for large customers while also offering battery cells for residential energy storage solutions."
