Ford Pro and Xcel Energy Join Forces to Facilitate Deployment of 30,000 Electric Vehicle Charging Stations for Corporate Fleets by 2030

With numerous commercial vehicles traversing extensive distances daily on North American roads, the electrification of these fleets holds substantial environmental advantages. Insufficient infrastructure is one major impediment hindering many businesses from transitioning to electric fleets. Ford Pro has recently collaborated with Xcel Energy to significantly augment the number of available charging stations, addressing a critical barrier. Moreover, businesses in specific states may enjoy cost offsets related to fleet upgrades.

Xcel Energy's Electric Vehicle Supply Infrastructure plan explicitly outlines the ambitious goal of developing 30,000 new chargers by 2030, directly tackling concerns about charging station accessibility. Although many fleet operators initially plan to charge their electric vehicles at their dedicated stations, installation costs often need to be lowered. Consequently, the new plan includes reimbursement for charger installation expenses and post-installation support, with this benefit currently applicable in Colorado, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. Other states, such as Texas, South Dakota, North Dakota, New Mexico, and Michigan, may soon be added to the program. Ford Pro also offers access to Ford Pro Telematics and Ford Pro Intelligence to enhance fleet management.
