The 774-horsepower Hennessey HPE750 Supercharged Mustang GT has become the first Mustang to surpass 200 mph, clocking in at 207.9 mph. Pro driver Brian Smith was able to surpass the 200 mph mark during a test run at the Continental Tiring Proving Grounds in Uvalde, Texas, this past May. Footage of the feat was also captured, highlighting all of the high-powered action.

Jay Leno was on hand for the incredible run, which he has plans to feature in an upcoming episode of his web series, "Jay Leno's Garage." He watched as Smith burned rubber on the track behind the wheel of the high-performance Mustang. The new top speed of 207.9 mph was achieved just three months after John Hennessey, president of Hennessey Performance Engineering, jumped into the driver’s seat and hit 195 mph on the same test track. Following the initial run in February, Hennessey, along with his team of experts, went back to the drawing board and ended up adding more horsepower and rpm to the Mustang, making the 200 mph-breaking top speed easily attainable.

The 2015 Hennessey Mustang GT is available now and can be ordered through Joe Myers Ford. You can also take a tour of our standard 2015 Mustang GT models, which are now featured in our online inventory.
