If you've ever wondered why Ford has carried the tag line "Built Ford Tough" under their wing for over 35 years, all you have to do is see what went into the testing process for the new 2015 Ford F-150 in Houston and you'll have a clear understanding. As the best-selling truck in the U.S. for almost 40 years, the F-150 never disappoints, and to ensure it continues to display incredible durability, the automaker put the rugged pickup through hundreds of torture tests, proving it has incredible capabilities.
Engineers at Ford have been pushing the 2015 F-150 farther than they have pushed any model before to make certain its new lighter, aluminum body can withstand whatever Mother Nature, and its driver, throws at it. With months left to go before it's available to the public, it has already endured corrosion baths, jagged, iron-pellet roads, thermal shock, steep hills and hits from 55-gallon drums. However, it's not over yet. Ford plans to continue putting the truck through similar severe trials until it has undergone 10 million miles of durability testing and performs better than ever.
Check out the two videos below to see just what kind of torture testing the F-150 has already gone through, and make sure you visit Joe Myers Ford when it goes on sale.
