How Often Should I Service My Ford F-150?

Your owner's manual is the best place for precise information on your particular Ford F-150 service intervals. That said, the following is a rough guide. By making an effort to maintain your F-150 now, you can keep it operating at its peak condition for many years to come.

20,000-Mile Service

This is often the first significant inspection on the Ford F-150 maintenance schedule. Everything from an oil change to a complete examination of the brakes is conducted. Your wheels will be looked at to make sure they are not making odd noises or wearing abnormally. Tires are inspected for tread depth, and a rotation is conducted.

The multi-point inspection involves the exhaust system, along with the heat shield. Your F-150's suspension, U-joints, driveshaft, tie-rod ends, steering linkage, and ball joints are also examined. If your model has a cabin air filter, the service team will replace it at this point.

30,000-Mile Service

If needed, an oil change and tire rotation can be done when you bring your F-150 for its next service appointment. This is also the point where engine air filters should be replaced to keep your F-150 operating optimally. A multi-point inspection is conducted to make sure everything else looks as it should.

60,000-Mile Service

When you bring in your F-150 for its 60,000-mile service, a regular inspection will occur. An oil change and tire rotation can be performed. Models with a cabin air filter will have it replaced, and trucks with special features will need their accessory belts examined and potentially replaced.

100,000-Mile Service

An even more complete inspection of your F-150 will be conducted once it hits 100,000 miles. Components such as the battery and power steering will be looked at on top of the other items addressed in the multi-point inspection. Spark plugs will also need to be replaced.
