Usually, this light appears due to either insufficient oil or a problem with the system that circulates your car's oil. If it's insufficient oil, add oil that matches your car's viscosity rating. Of course, a problem with the oil-circulating system will require repair.

This light varies depending on your car's make and model. It may indicate the need for an oil change and other periodic maintenance. In some vehicles, the SVS light signifies the need for minor repairs. For clarification, see your owner's manual.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System

TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System)

This light is a safety matter. It indicates low air pressure in one or more tires. Stop safely, check your tires, add air where necessary. The light should disappear within seconds of returning to the road, but it may remain on if you need new TPMS sensors.

Slip Indicator

When your tires slip due to inclement weather, your car's traction-restoring system should engage. This light will subsequently activate. If it remains lit under normal driving conditions, have your traction control or vehicle stability control professionally checked.

Charging System Warning Light

Your car has a fault in the system that charges its battery when you see this light. This electrical circuit includes your alternator, battery, wiring, and other components. If the light appears while your engine is running, safely stop, and seek service. Until you repair a similar problem, your car will usually not start after this indicator activates.

Brake System

Brake System

Most cars use this light to warn of a brake fluid leak. Your brakes may work temporarily, but you must get your brake lines or your master cylinder repaired soon. Do not ignore this problem. This is a safety matter.

Any open door activates this light. Safely closing all doors deactivates it. This light may also monitor your trunk.

Coolant Level Warning

This important light indicates low engine coolant. You should not run your car on low coolant. Excessive engine temperatures and expensive damage will occur. Seek service to find and repair your coolant leak.
