All you F-150 fans out there will be pleased to know that Ford has plans to release a hybrid version of America's bestselling pickup by 2020. This game-changing information was recently confirmed by Ford CEO Mark Fields during an interview on NPR, leading car enthusiasts to begin wondering what to expect when the vehicle makes its grand debut at the end of the decade.

With Ford recently announcing they have decided to invest over $4 billion in vehicle electrification in order to back the development of 13 electric and hybrid cars by 2020, it’s not completely surprising an F-150 hybrid model is on its way. According to Fields, as pollution continues to increase across the globe, it's our duty to produce greener vehicles that will help us preserve the environment and an F-150 hybrid is one vehicle Ford plans on developing in support of this notion. When the truck does get introduced to the public, it will come with a rear-wheel-drive configuration, but outside of this information, no other details have been provided.

We may have to wait to receive further information about the new F-150 hybrid, but in the meantime, you can check out the standard 2016 Ford F-150 on sale now at Joe Myers Ford.
